Vybes Shop: Enabling social media creators to sell products

Context

There are millions of social media creators in SEA alone, yet only very few are able to sustain themselves with their social media income.

Aiming to become the "Shopify for social commerce", Vybes makes it easy for these social media creators to monetize their following by collaborating with brands and selling their products.

Research

Through user interviews with small to mid-sized social media creators in Indonesia and Singapore, we found that there were a couple hurdles for them to get started in selling products:

1. Most of them didn't know how to even start, and what products they can sell.
2. They need an easy way to set up an online storefront, from accepting payments, listing products, and more.

Problem

How might we make it easy for social media creators to start selling products?

Solution

To accomplish this, we designed and built a two-sided platform: one for social media creators to get started selling, and one for their fans to browse and purchase products.

Since a large majority of our social media creators are using smartphones as their primary way of working, we decided to build a mobile app for both iOS and Android.
